The new package of counter-sanctions of the Russian Federation will include measures to expand import substitution of medicines

Measures to expand the import substitution of medicines will be included in the new package of counter-sanctions, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting with members of the Just Russia - For Truth faction in the State Duma.

“We are working on the next package of counter-sanctions, which also provides for a number of solutions to support employment and business. Among them are measures to expand import substitution of medicines and medical devices," TASS quoted the prime minister as saying. “Everyone understands how important this is for our people.”

Mishustin recalled that the government has an operational headquarters to support the economy under sanctions, which works almost around the clock. The prime minister drew attention to the importance of interaction between the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Duma, including when considering bills necessary to implement initiatives to support citizens and businesses. He noted that work is already underway to create more comfortable conditions for SMEs, measures are being taken to help the regions as a whole in the face of sanctions, the Prime Minister noted.

The Prime Minister holds meetings with deputies of factions on the eve of the government's report to the State Duma, scheduled for April 7.
